Gisle Kverndokk is nominated for the Nordic Council Music Prize for his musical "Martin L". The prize this year will go to a composer of musicals. Kverndokk is the Norwegian nominee together with the composer Henning Sommerro who is nominated for the musical "An-Magritt".
"Martin L." was premiered this summer at The Domstufen Festspiele in Erfurt to great success. The Thüringer Allegemeine called it "Martin L. Superstar" and praised the work for it's complex dramaturgy, the congenial music and the spectacular scenography and direction. Yngve Gasoy-Romdal was hailed as a shining star and triumphed in the title role as Martin Luther.
